NATO Science for Peace

Participation in Television programmes in Latvia and Europe.
At the attractive popular scientific programme on the Latvian State Television (First channel, prime time, January 4, 2003) the NATO SfP project was announced and commented upon, with Dr. M. Tamanis demonstrating the laboratory equipment (lasers, electronics, tracer gas containing cells) at the LU Group site. The programme has been repeatedly shown and attracted a wide audience. The attractive information, about NATO SfP project, including demonstration of experimental device, was presented in special Latvian State TV programme "Science for 21st Century" (First channel, prime time, September, 2003, R. Ferber, M. Auzinsh).

The new information on achievements in NATO project was presented by Prof. R.Ferber in Latvian State TV news program "TV Panorama" in March 27, 2004.

On April 1 when Latvia joined NATO Prof M. Auzinsh and Vice President of Latvian Academy of Sciences Prof A.Silinsh in Latvian State TV news program "TV Panorama" told about the NATO SfP program contribution in the financial support of industry-targeted investigations. Information was released via German TV channel as well (May 2005).

Dr. M. Tamanis presented technological solutions of the NATO SfP project in channel LNT News program (Jan 21, 2006).

Information about the present NATO SfP project was announced in comments on scientific activities in Latvia via state radio (Prof. A. Silins, Prof. J.Spigulis).

In the Exhibition devoted to the 85th Anniversary of the University of Latvia (Sept – Oct, 2004) project activities have been presented in the special poster.

On Feb, 2006 demonstration of laboratory equipment was done for promotional film "Welcome to Latvia".

Information dissemination in the Catalogue "High Tech in Latvia, 2004". Information about the Project is published in the Catalogue of innovative high technology developments in Latvia. (published by Latvian Technological Center, Editor: L. Ribickis).
Latvian Transatlantic Organization (LATO)
seminar took place on March 20, 2002. The main subject was concerning participation of scientists and industrial partners from Latvia in NATO scientific programs. Presentation of the Project (R. Ferber, M. Auzinsh) helped making the present NATO SfP project known to wider audience in Latvia.
