Activities in the frame of the project
since the start of the project until 31 March 2007
- Visit of Latvian Prime-Minister A.Kalvitis, (Jan 20, 2006) and Minister
of Education and Science B.Rivza (May 12, 2006) – presentation of the
laboratory and the NATO SfP project.
- NATO SfP Steering group visit (June 14-16, 2003).
- Visit of Jean Fournet, Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy,
and Chairman of CCMS (June 2, 2004)
Mr. Fournet appreciated the project achievement in public relation and in
particular, creation the job places for young scientists, and stressed the
importance of public visibility, as so as Latvian government support.
- Visit of Latvian Parliament (Saeima) Commission for Education and Science,
Oct 25, 2005 – presentation of NATO SfP project.
- Organization of the Workshop and Project Co-directors meeting
- Scientific publications in peer review journals
- Presentations in conferences and workshops
- Presentations on media
- Laser Centre creation. A new Laser Centre equipped with modern laser
and spectroscopy devices has been opened at the University of Latvia on June, 10 in
2005. The Laser Centre establishing was supported by the University of Latvia and
will significantly increase the possibilities of carrying out present project activities
